Celebrity Traitors cast pay revealed: How much do stars earn?
Celebrity Traitors cast pay: How much do stars earn?

Celebrity Traitors fans are once again engrossed in Claudia Winkleman's twisted BBC reality show as it returns for season two. After Alan Carr's iconic journey to victory last year, Celebrity Traitors has made a comeback with a new cast of famous faces' ability to lie and work out who can really be trusted.

Who are the new Traitors?

This time around, actor Richard E Grant and Love Island's Maya Jama were chosen as Traitors, with the Saltburn star accidentally revealing his identity in the very first episode. Claudia allowed the pair to recruit another into their deceptive fold and, much to his horror, they chose comedian James Acaster.

Are the celebrities paid?

Yes, the cast of Celebrity Traitors are paid to take part in the iconic game show. It was reported last year that the 2025 stars, including Stephen Fry, Paloma Faith and Celia Imrie, were paid £40,000 each, which means the BBC handed out a massive £760,000.

On The Rest Is Entertainment podcast, presenter Marina Hyde said: "Look at the calibre of the people they got. They were able to pay everybody a blanket 40k fee, right? They’re paying them a 40k fee." However, former rugby player Joe Marler revealed that the actual amount varied depending on the star, with him receiving £30,000 to appear on The Celebrity Traitors last year. The BBC has declined to comment on what stars are paid to appear in the series.

What else can they win?

But their fee is not only the money on the table, as the celebrities are competing to win up to £100,000, depending on how well they perform in each challenge. This money isn't for themselves but will go towards the charity of their choice.

Tonight, Friday, October 2, the stars gathered around the round table for the first time to banish someone, with Richard very much in the firing line. Unfortunately, fans are going to have to wait until next Thursday, October 8, to find out if he's really a goner. The Celebrity Traitors continues every Thursday and Friday at 8pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
