Channel 4 has unveiled the full roster of famous faces set to endure one of television's toughest challenges in the upcoming series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins. The new eight-part season, scheduled to launch in January 2025, introduces a fresh competitive edge by pitting Team UK against Team Australia in the harsh landscapes of North Africa.
Stars Step Into the Firing Line
Leading the British contingent is reality television personality Dani Dyer-Bowen. The 29-year-old, a former Love Island winner and recent Strictly Come Dancing withdrawal, is married to West Ham United footballer Jarrod Bowen. She admitted the mental challenge would be her biggest hurdle. "I think physically I've got this, mentally is what I'll struggle with," Dyer-Bowen said. "I just want to believe in myself a little bit more and stop being a negative Nancy."
She will be joined by a diverse group of UK celebrities including former Love Island contestant Gabby Allen, social media stars Jack Joseph and Cole Anderson-James, Neighbours actor Natalie Bassingthwaighte, and World Cup-winning former England rugby player Ben Cohen. The line-up is completed by Gladiator and Olympian Toby Olubi, former England cricketer Graeme Swann, and Olympic swimmer Emily Seebohm.
Australian Team and Gruelling Format
Facing them will be Team Australia, featuring stars like Neighbours actor Ryan Moloney, Olympic gold medal-winning swimmer Mack Horton, former international cricketer Brad Hodge, and TV personality Jessika Power. Home And Away actor and musician Axle Whitehead also joins the Australian squad.
The infamous directing staff, led by Chief Instructor Billy Billingham and including Jason 'Foxy' Fox, Rudy Reyes, and Chris Oliver, return to put the celebrities through a brutal selection process. Billingham warned: "A challenge like no other, this series isn't just a brutal personal course, their national pride is on the line."
Unlike many reality competitions, contestants on Celebrity SAS are not voted off by the public. Instead, they are either culled by the directing staff or choose to withdraw themselves. Only those who remain until the very end are declared winners.
Testing Limits for Pride and Purpose
For many contestants, the motivation extends beyond personal glory. Former England spin bowler Graeme Swann shared his reason for signing up: "I wanted my kids to see that even the hardest tasks can be achieved if you just keep putting one foot in front of the other."
The new series promises intense physical and psychological trials as the two national teams battle for supremacy under the watchful eyes of the DS. With the premiere set for January 2025 on Channel 4, viewers can expect a raw and uncompromising look at which celebrities have the resilience to survive the SAS's legendary selection process.
