Big Brother fans have called for Danny Beard to become a permanent host of The Group Chat after his debut on the spin-off show was widely praised.
The 34-year-old, whose real name is Daniel Curtis, won RuPaul's Drag Race in 2022 and reached the semi-finals of Britain's Got Talent in 2016. He appeared on Celebrity Big Brother in 2025, making the final, and was previously a regular panellist on the companion series Late and Live.
Since his time on the ITV reality series, he has had a cameo on Hollyoaks and is set to play Lily Savage on stage in the play Savage, based on the life of the late Paul O'Grady.
Danny Beard joins The Group Chat
On Wednesday (October 14), Danny made his debut on the revamped Big Brother companion series, The Group Chat, which uses a video podcast format without a live studio audience.
With Will Best currently competing in Strictly Come Dancing, former Big Brother winner Kate Lawler and podcaster GK Barry have been presenting the show. However, after Danny's appearance, many fans believe he should have been chosen as the third host.
He discussed hotly debated incidents and housemates, including Omar's behaviour and public perceptions of Rochelle and Twinks.
Fans praise Danny's commentary
Danny told viewers: "Rochelle, Joanne, amazing television. What I don't get with Big Brother is when people blindly side with one or the other. I think we've got to watch Big Brother, like it's supposed to be watched, and say, well, that was out of order, that was out of order, that was funny."
He added: "I don't think that there's anything that Rochelle's done that I'm fully behind her, and there's plenty of times when I'm against her behavior too. I think it's a privilege to not want to engage in politics."
He also said of Rihanna and Omar: "This is what I'm not vibing with Omar. I don't like the way he speaks. Not just to women, though. Clock this. To the men he thinks are less than."
He continued: "When he was shouting at Rob, 'You're shaking!' Don't try to intimidate him. Last night with Sam, 'Don't do that again' he said. That was intimidating."
Viewers call for permanent role
Fans took to social media to share their view that Danny should be a permanent fixture on The Group Chat. One person posted: "Danny Beard really speaks as a true fan that understands the show and has been invested since back in the day. I love it."
Another added: "In terms of opinions and hot takes, Danny Beard is probably the best guest on Big Brother the Group Chat. He probably should have been the host."
While someone else agreed: "Danny Beard being the best guest on The Group Chat in all five weeks, just like he was always the best guest on Late & Live."
One person asked: "Can we just get Danny Beard hosting the main show or even the side show next series??? First time we've had a true perspective of the politics in the house, taking no sides and just spitting straight facts. Get that contract drawn up!"
A fan suggested: "Can Danny Beard just become a third host on group chat. All their chemistry together was brilliant."
