Big Brother fans believe they have exposed one of this year's housemates' 'very smart' game plan. It comes after the group descended into chaos as they were forced to make their nominations face to face.
Pauline and Rob received the most nods from everyone and have been up for the public vote. One of them will be evicted in tonight's live show (October 9).
Despite several heated exchanges and fiery clashes, there are still a number of housemates who have not been up for eviction. This includes Lynx, a 24-year-old property developer from London.
Lynx's cooking role sparks speculation
Earlier in the series, he was seen getting very close with fellow contestant Chelsey until she was forced to leave. It was also revealed during this week's shopping task that he is one of a handful of housemates to receive the fewest nominations.
Now, dedicated viewers believe that they have figured out why. One person took to the Big Brother UK subreddit and asked: "Is Lynx only doing all the cooking to avoid getting nominated?"
They continued to speculate: "A lot of people online have been speculating the intention behind Lynx choosing to be the chef of the house. I've been seeing things like 'He's only doing all the cooking so people won't nominate him', 'All this cooking is part of his game plan' etc... Do you agree or disagree?"
The post was accompanied by a vote for people to share if they do think being the cook is part of Lynx's game plan. At the time of writing it had received more than 100 votes in total, with more than 90% saying they agree.
Fans point to a change in behaviour
Someone replied: "He’s very smart, I think Chelsey's eviction and boos were a wake up call for him, probably realised he wasn’t on the right side of the fence. I mean, we know he’s in there for brand deals and modelling opportunities, which means he has to come across well…"
Another agreed his behaviour seems to have changed as they said: "Since Chelsey left to boos, he’s become a different person trying to mingle with everyone in the house more to be liked and not just spend all his time with Omar and Rhianna like he was before."
One fan examined the 'weird' house dynamics of this series in more detail compared to past series. They noted: "I feel like the house almost always eats together and usually one housemate nominates themselves as resident cook. Instead in this house it seemed they all continue to cook their own things."
They added: "I was also trying to think back to previous series and I don't think the resident cook has ever actually won or been a significant finalist in Big Brother history? Therefore, I don't think it's a good strategy as people tend to see through that tactic- as well as the cook themselves usually being someone who wants praise/glory/control."
However others highlighted that Marcello from a recent series was known as the house cook, and that seemed to contribute to him being well liked by other housemates. This was despite the fact a number of fans wanted him evicted.
Mixed views on Lynx's intentions
Meanwhile, one person admitted about Lynx: "He probably genuinely likes it and would rather not be cooked for!" As another replied: "I think two things can be true at once."
They added: "I can see why people think he's doing it to avoid nominations because it's Big Brother - certain housemates would do anything for air time and to not get nominated so it's VERY plausible...but I do agree with you. I think he genuinely likes cooking. However, I can't deny the change in his behaviour since Chelsey left."
Big Brother continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
