Former Playboy Cover Model Expresses Regret Over Revealing 1990s Fling with Donald Trump

Sandra Taylor, a one-time Playboy cover model who dated Donald Trump in her early twenties, has disclosed how publicly mentioning their brief romance has haunted her for more than a decade. In an exclusive interview with the Daily Mail, Taylor, now 59, stated that nothing positive has resulted from her revelation, and she continues to face unfair treatment due to her comments.

'I regret mentioning it at all,' said Taylor, who posed in a Stars and Stripes bikini for her July 1995 Playboy cover. 'No good came out of it. Only negative came out of it.'

A Brief Romance in 1991

Taylor, who also acted in films such as The Princess Bride, Valentine's Day, and Under Siege 2: Dark Territory, revealed she dated the man who would later become the 45th and 47th President of the United States in 1991. Trump, who is 20 years older than Taylor, contacted her after seeing her picture on the cover of New York magazine, shortly after her father had passed away.

The brief relationship was largely forgotten until 2015, when Page Six inquired about Trump's bedroom skills as Taylor promoted the Gary Marshall comedy Mother's Day. 'Omigosh, he was great,' Taylor was quoted as saying. 'I think he'd be a terrific president.'

Unexpected Backlash and Harassment

Despite intending her comment to be non-political, Taylor explained that it was enough for Trump critics to target her. 'I was really just trying to say he's a great guy and he was great to me when I needed someone most after my dad's death,' she said. 'Also, when you date someone when you're 19, and it's 35 years later, you say to somebody, "Well, where were you 35 years ago?" Times were so different then.'

Taylor detailed that they went on three dates shortly after Trump divorced his first wife, Ivana. Their romance included a walk in Central Park South, where Trump, whose businesses were struggling at the time, pointed to a homeless man and remarked, 'Do you see that guy there? He's worth about $50 million more than I am.' He also persuaded Taylor to change her name from Sandi Korn to Sandra Taylor.

The relationship ended when news of it became public. 'I was sad when it ended,' she admitted.

Persistent Negative Consequences

Taylor told the Daily Mail that the 2015 article did not portray her favorably, leading to ongoing harassment from anti-Trump critics online. 'People are going to want to judge, and people are going to want to hate. I guess that's what comes with the territory,' she said. 'That is why I've been mute about it really.'

She remains disturbed by the volume of attacks over simply expressing her feelings about Trump during their brief romance. 'Talking about certain things really makes you wonder if you should just stay quiet,' Taylor reflected. 'That really was life-changing, and for all the good I tried to do in saying what a great guy he was and what a great person he was, because he really was great to me. I want you to know.'

She added, 'He was wonderful to me. Whether you like his politics or not, as a person, he was good to me. He taught me certain things. He was very educational and gave advice. And for that, I'm forever grateful. I was just a young model living in New York, and to me he was very kind and wonderful.'

Future Plans and Memoir Considerations

Taylor revealed she is considering writing a memoir about her colorful life, which would also include an account of dating Dodi Fayed, who died alongside Princess Diana in a 1997 Paris car crash. Publishers have offered her deals, but she emphasized it won't be written until the time is right mentally and emotionally.

'I have a wonderful past with wonderful people that I was able to meet living in New York City and modeling. And I really have nothing bad to say about anybody, which is really good news,' Taylor said. 'But how deep would I go in a memoir? I guess if I was to do it, and hence my delay in doing it, I would probably go as deep as one would in a memoir situation... tell everything.'
