Sir Tom Jones has been forced to reschedule upcoming tour dates after following advice from his doctor. The 86-year-old Welsh singer is currently on the US leg of his Come Gather Round Tour, having completed 20 shows in America so far.
However, Sir Tom has apologised to concert-goers as he has "unexpectedly been hit with a bad case of the flu," and was told not to perform by his doctor. With only five dates left, the singer has had to reschedule his show tonight in Los Angeles and tomorrow's performance in San Diego.
Rescheduled Dates Announced
Writing to fans on social media, Tom Jones said: "I've had a great time these last few weeks, completing 20 shows and singing for wonderful audiences across the USA, but unexpectedly I've been hit with a bad case of the flu. Following doctor's advice, I unfortunately have to reschedule tonight's show in Los Angeles and tomorrow's show in San Diego."
He added: "I've had news that these shows will now be re-scheduled as follows The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park, San Diego on Tuesday November 3rd and The Greek Theatre, Los Angeles on Wednesday November 4th. I'm truly sorry for any inconvenience caused. I look forward to seeing you all soon."
Sir Tom's three remaining shows in California have not been changed.
Ticket Information and Recent Departure
For those who have already purchased tickets for the original dates, these will remain valid. However, if customers are unable to attend the re-scheduled dates, they are advised to contact their original point of purchase for a full refund.
Sir Tom's rescheduled tour dates come weeks after the Treforest-born singer was let go from the judges panel on ITV show, The Voice. It was previously confirmed that the Welsh singing sensation would not be returning after 13 years on the show, a decision he claimed was not his.
