Super Bowl 2026: Bad Bunny & Green Day Lead Star-Studded Line-Up
Super Bowl 2026: Bad Bunny, Green Day to Perform

The entertainment roster for one of the world's most-watched sporting events is now set, promising a spectacular night of music alongside the athletic drama. Super Bowl LX will take place on Sunday, 8 February 2026, at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. While the competing NFL teams remain unknown, the star power booked for the pre-game and halftime ceremonies is already generating immense buzz.

Headline Acts and Political Backlash

After months of speculation linking pop megastars like Taylor Swift and Adele to the coveted slot, organisers confirmed in September that global Latin music phenomenon Bad Bunny will headline the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show. The Puerto Rican artist, a three-time Grammy and 12-time Latin Grammy winner known for hits like "Tití Me Preguntó," has revolutionised the music industry and championed causes in his homeland.

His selection, however, has not been without controversy. The announcement ignited significant backlash from parts of the MAGA movement, with some of Donald Trump's supporters criticising the performer as a "massive Trump hater" and an "anti-ICE activist." Despite the political noise, Bad Bunny has teased his performance with a trailer promising, "The world will dance."

Hometown Heroes and Pre-Game Traditions

Adding a local flavour to the festivities, Grammy-winning rock legends Green Day will perform a special tribute during the opening ceremony. The band, comprising Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool, will honour six decades of Super Bowl history. Their set will welcome previous Most Valuable Players from past games onto the field.

"We are super hyped to open Super Bowl 60 right in our backyard!" exclaimed frontman Armstrong. "We are honoured to welcome the MVPs who've shaped the game and open the night for fans all over the world. Let's have fun! Let's get loud!"

The pre-game festivities will feature a trio of acclaimed artists performing American standards. Charlie Puth will sing the National Anthem, a decision he defended on social media, promising a "really special arrangement" in D major. Brandi Carlile, an 11-time Grammy winner, is slated to perform "America the Beautiful." Meanwhile, former Disney Channel star and Grammy winner Coco Jones will perform "Lift Every Voice and Sing." Jones has a personal connection to the event, as her father, Mike Jones, was part of the St. Louis Rams' Super Bowl-winning team.

A Celebration of Culture and Performance

Senior NFL and Roc Nation executives have praised the selected artists for their cultural impact. Jon Barker, the NFL's senior vice president of global event production, stated the performers "bring a distinct voice to the moment, helping set the tone for a day that will captivate fans around the world."

Desiree Perez, CEO of Roc Nation, which is co-producing the show, added: "Charlie, Brandi, and Coco are generational talents, and we are honoured to have them — alongside our extraordinary deaf performers — on Super Bowl LX's world stage. This moment embodies the very best of culture, live performance and our country."

With a line-up that bridges rock, pop, Latin and soul, Super Bowl LX is poised to offer a musical spectacle as highly anticipated as the championship game itself.
