The Saturdays Poised for Major 20th Anniversary Reunion Tour
Una Healy has publicly declared she is actively rallying all five original members of the iconic girl group The Saturdays for a highly anticipated 20th anniversary reunion tour. The singer revealed she has been discussing concrete plans with her former bandmate Molly King, marking a significant step towards bringing the beloved pop act back to the stage.
Reunion Plans Gain Momentum After Band Discussions
Speaking candidly on the 2FM Morning show with Laura Fox, Una Healy reflected on the group's remarkable eighteen-year journey since their formation. "I hope so, you know that it has been 18 years now. So only two more to go. It was 2008 since the first single. The years are flying by it's scary," Healy stated, emphasising the timing is now ideal to initiate reunion preparations.
Healy elaborated that Molly King recently reminded her of the impending milestone. "I was recently talking to Molly and she just reminded me. She was like 'you know it's the big 20th now, in two years.' I always think that the noughties was ten years ago. So I think that it would be a good time. It would take time to get a tour together," she explained, highlighting the logistical planning required.
The singer made it unequivocally clear that any reunion must involve all five original members: Una Healy, Molly King, Frankie Bridge, Rochelle Humes, and Vanessa White. "I am trying to rally them all up and I want it to be all of us as well. We all do. That's how we all collectively feel. If we ever do anything again it would have to be all five or it wouldn't be the same. I would just love if it was all of us," Healy affirmed, stressing the importance of the complete lineup.
Addressing Rumours of Internal Feuds and Rifts
The reunion discussions emerge amidst persistent fan speculation, particularly concerning a supposed secret feud between Frankie Bridge and Rochelle Humes. The two members have known each other since childhood, first meeting when selected for S Club Juniors in 2001. Despite both women repeatedly denying any fallout, rumours intensified last year after Frankie posted a cryptic TikTok video following reports the pair had 'snubbed' each other at Wimbledon.
Rochelle Humes directly addressed these rumours in a recent interview with Hunger magazine, firmly shutting down any speculation of discord. "We’ve always had such respect for each other," Rochelle stated, adding context to the band's 2014 hiatus. "Everyone wanted that drama for us. They couldn’t understand the idea that, actually, five girls [could] get on. But no, we didn’t [split]! Don’t get me wrong, we had disagreements, but we were like sisters. Everyone expected [being in a girl band] to be really traumatic, but it wasn’t."
It is notable that the full five-piece band has not been photographed together in the same room for eight years, though the other members have not commented on the alleged rift. Both Frankie and Rochelle have pursued successful individual careers in television and music since the group's disbandment, as have all members, who originally insisted their 2014 split was merely a 'break' rather than a permanent 'break-up'.
From S Club Juniors to Pop Stardom and Beyond
The Saturdays, formed in 2007, rapidly rose to fame with a string of hit singles. Prior to the group's creation, Frankie Bridge and Rochelle Humes' paths had already crossed significantly. After S Club Juniors disbanded in 2005, Rochelle moved into television hosting, while Frankie attempted a solo singing career. Their careers converged once more in 2007 during an open casting call for a new girl group, which ultimately became The Saturdays.
The band enjoyed substantial success before entering their hiatus in 2014, with all members forging impressive independent careers across various media platforms. Una Healy's recent public rallying call signals a concerted effort to reunite the quintet for their loyal fanbase, celebrating two decades since their initial impact on the pop music scene.
