Rod Stewart has added an extra Glasgow date to his Final Encore tour next spring, responding to what the venue described as "phenomenal demand." The new show at the OVO Hydro is scheduled for Tuesday, May 18, 2027.
The 81-year-old singer announced at the end of September that he would give up touring next year after a six-decade career. He was already set to play two sold-out nights at the OVO Hydro on April 29 and May 1 before the third date was confirmed on November 2.
Venue confirms final Glasgow night
The venue announced the news in an Instagram post, stating: "Due to phenomenal demand, Rod Stewart has added a final date at the OVO Hydro on Tuesday 18 May 2027!"
Tickets for the added Glasgow gig will go on general sale later this week, giving Scots one last chance to see the "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy" star perform on stage in Scotland.
Ticket sale schedule
A series of pre-sales will take place from November 3 until November 5 for the May show. These include Artist Pre-sale, O2 Priority Pre-sale, OVO Pre-sale, and Live Nation Pre-sale. General sale will begin on Friday, November 6, at 10am.
While this is Stewart's final tour, the singer has made clear he is not retiring from music.
Health recovery and tour announcement
His step down from the stage follows a string of health issues this year. Stewart was forced to cancel the remainder of his North American tour this summer after revealing he was taking four weeks off to recover from a routine coronary stent procedure. He told the Record that his operation "wasn't as bad as everyone is making out" and reassured fans online that he was "very much on the mend."
Announcing his final tour in September, he said: "Ladies and gentleman after much deliberation and sadness, I have to announce next year will be my last ever tour, ever ever. I'm not retiring but this will be the last rock and roll tour so I want to thank you for everything you've given me and hopefully I've given you something in return."
Tickets for the added Glasgow date go on sale this Friday, November 6.
