TV actor Anuj Thakur died on Tuesday, October 27, at the age of 33 after suffering a seizure in his sleep. The star, known for Disney Channel's Dhoom Machao Dhoom, was found dead by his mother when she went to wake him in the morning.

The news was confirmed by his close friend and casting director Rupesh Sonar, who shared an emotional tribute on Instagram.

Friend confirms tragic death

In his Instagram post, Sonar wrote: "Still can’t believe that you are no longer with us. You were not just a friend but like a little brother to me. We had so many projects planned together, and I still remember witnessing your struggles during your initial days and seeing your journey."

He added: "Life is truly unpredictable. It’s heartbreaking to accept that you are gone so soon. This news feels unreal. You will always be remembered, brother. Rest in peace."

Sonar said he had met Anuj about 10 days before his death and was shocked to learn that he had gone to sleep and did not wake up.

Details of the final morning

"I was shocked to hear that he had gone to sleep at night and never woke up. I met his family, including his mother and brother, on Saturday. That’s when I was told that Anuj had suffered a seizure and passed away during the episode," he revealed.

Anuj was an early riser, waking at 4.30 am every day to follow a routine that included fitness and jogging. However, that morning he did not get up. "His alarm went off at 4.30 am, and when his mother went to his room to wake him, she found that he had died," Sonar said.

Rupesh and Anuj first met in 2008 while working on Bandhan Saath Janmon Ka and went on to collaborate on multiple projects, including Beend Banoonga Ghodi Chadhunga.
