Rihanna supports ASAP Rocky in NYC ahead of SNL debut

Global superstar Rihanna made a stylish appearance in New York City on Friday, showing support for her husband, rapper ASAP Rocky, ahead of his highly anticipated Saturday Night Live performance.

Fashion-Forward Support in the Big Apple

The 37-year-old 'Diamonds' singer commanded attention in an oversized grey wool coat, layered over a sharp navy pinstripe blazer. Her ensemble was completed with figure-hugging leggings featuring an ankle slit, pointed white heels, and a petite black bag.

Meanwhile, the guest of honour, also 37, showcased his signature eclectic style. ASAP Rocky opted for an oversized dark brown leather bomber jacket with a luxurious fur collar, worn over a crisp white shirt and striped tie. He finished the look with tailored black trousers, brown shoes, a black ushanka-style hat, and a quilted Chanel satchel.

Earlier in the day, the rapper was spotted in a more relaxed mode, shopping in a grey oversized hoodie and ankle-length shorts before heading to the NBC studios for rehearsals.

SNL Stage Set for New Album Debut

The focal point of the evening was Rocky's scheduled appearance on the iconic late-night show. During his Saturday Night Live slot, the rapper was set to debut tracks from his forthcoming album, 'Don't Be Dumb'.

This release marks a significant moment in his career, as it is his fourth studio album and his first new LP in eight years, generating considerable buzz among fans and music critics alike.

Rumours of Rihanna's Own Musical Return

While the spotlight was on ASAP Rocky, speculation is intensifying that Rihanna is preparing for a major musical comeback of her own. The singer, who hasn't released an album since the acclaimed 'Anti' in 2016, is said to have been planning a new tour since August.

According to reports, the nine-time Grammy winner, who welcomed her third child—a daughter named Rocki—on September 13, is poised to confirm a series of live shows imminently. The couple are also parents to two sons, RZA (born 2022) and Riot (born 2023).

"Rihanna is raring to go and cannot wait to get back on the road," a source revealed. They added that the cancellation of planned London Stadium shows last summer due to her pregnancy has only built more anticipation.

The insider noted the significance of the timing, stating, "This month she will celebrate the tenth anniversary of 'Anti', which coincides with a decade since she last toured, so it feels massive to her and her team." Fans can reportedly expect "massive" production values for the potential tour.

Despite being one of the best-selling musicians of all time, with over 250 million records sold worldwide, Rihanna has focused predominantly on her successful Fenty fashion and beauty empires over the past decade. A return to the stage would mark a hugely awaited event for her global fanbase.
