In a heartwarming and surprise moment at Capital's Jingle Bell Ball with Barclaycard, chart-topping singer Raye was joined on stage by her two rarely-seen sisters for a special performance. The event took place on Saturday night at London's O2 Arena in front of a sold-out crowd.
A Family Affair on the O2 Stage
The seven-time Brit Award winner, 28, emotionally introduced her younger siblings during her set. She first brought out her 21-year-old sister, who performs under the name Absolutely (real name Abby-Lynn Keen). Raye confessed to the audience that she was 'so nervous' about the debut, even more so than her sister.
'For the first time ever and to be honest I'm so nervous, I'm more nervous than her because I am about to bring out my little sister to sing a song on this stage,' Raye told the crowd before asking them to welcome Absolutely. The pair then performed a rendition of 'I Just Don't Know You Yet' together.
The surprises didn't end there. After their duet, Raye and Absolutely had 'more news' for the audience. They then introduced their other sister, Amma (real name Lauren), who joined them to perform an emotional version of 'If You Don't Love Me'.
Sisters as a 'Rock' on the Road
Following the performances, Raye opened up about the significance of sharing the stage with her family. She described how life as a touring artist can be 'lonely on the road' but insisted her sisters are her 'rock'.
'I am very, very proud, that is a moment we will never forget in our little lives,' she said. 'There is nothing more special than sharing these moments with your sisters... They are incredible artists so please check them out.'
The trio's appearance gave fans a direct preview of Raye's upcoming world tour, as she recently announced that both Absolutely and Amma will be accompanying her on the road next year. The singer, who also has a fourth sister named Katelyn, joked with Capital Breakfast hosts later that the only touring trouble she anticipates is her sisters stealing her clothes.
New Album and Tour on the Horizon
The Jingle Bell Ball performance comes amid a busy period for Raye. She has announced a massive 51-date tour titled 'This Tour May Contain New Music', which is scheduled to kick off in January.
In a positive turn of events, Raye also recently revealed that her stolen car, which contained precious songwriting books crucial for her second studio album, was recovered by police. Miraculously, all her notebooks were untouched inside the vehicle, allowing her to continue work on the highly anticipated follow-up record.
Despite the album being available for pre-order, the singer humorously admitted in a recent radio interview that it is 'not even remotely done', comparing the creative process to leaving homework to the last minute to ensure it's perfect.
