Professor Green revealed as Tea Bag on Masked Singer

In a surprising early exit, legendary rapper Professor Green was revealed to be the celebrity inside the Tea Bag costume on Sunday night's episode of The Masked Singer UK. The unveiling came during the second episode of the show's seventh series, which aired on ITV on Sunday, 4th January 2026.

A Frightening First Performance

Making his debut on the hit ITV singing competition, the star performed Breakfast At Tiffany's by Deep Blue Something. Despite his efforts, Tea Bag landed in the bottom two alongside the character Yak. After judges Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross, Maya Jama, and Mo Gilligan chose to save Yak, the fate of Tea Bag was sealed, leading to the dramatic unmasking.

Speaking to host Joel Dommett after removing his elaborate headpiece, the music star confessed the experience had been daunting. "I can’t believe it, well I can believe it, but I can’t believe it," he said. "I thought people would have enjoyed the Tea-Bag. It was quite scary."

From Chart-Topping Rapper to Teabag

The man behind the perforated pouch was confirmed to be Professor Green, the acclaimed rapper known for selling millions of albums and collaborating with major artists like Emeli Sandé, Lily Allen, and Example. His unexpected early departure marks one of the quickest reveals in the current series.

Sunday's episode introduced a fresh cohort of mysterious characters, including Arctic Fox, Conkers, Monkey Business, Toastie, and Yak, all performing for the first time. With Tea Bag now eliminated, the remaining contestants battling to keep their identities secret include Gargoyle, Red Panda, Can of Worms, Moth, and Sloth.

Continuing the Unmasking Trend

Professor Green's revelation follows the unmasking of Alex Jones in the series premiere. The One Show presenter was unveiled as Disc Jockey after performing Chappell Roan's Pink Pony Club, dedicating her bizarre experience to her children.

The new series has already seen other surprises, with singer Anne-Marie previously unmasked as Goldfish. She had performed as part of a group called No Trout, a first for the programme's format, before singing her hit song 2002 for the studio audience.

The Masked Singer continues to captivate audiences on ITV1 and ITVX, with the show airing at 6.30pm.
