Molly-Mae Hague Speaks Out on Tommy Fury's Controversial Fight Timing

Molly-Mae Hague has publicly addressed the timing of Tommy Fury's upcoming boxing match, which is set to occur just days after she is expected to give birth to their second child. The couple, both 26 years old and former stars of Love Island, are already parents to three-year-old daughter Bambi. They rekindled their relationship last year and are anticipating the arrival of their new baby in June.

Fight Details and Family Reactions

Tommy Fury has announced his plans to fight retired strongman Eddie Hall at the AO Arena in Manchester on June 13. This date falls remarkably close to Molly-Mae's due date, sparking concerns among her family members. Reports have indicated that her relatives are worried about his decision, given the challenges they faced during the birth of their first child.

In a recent Q&A video on her YouTube channel, Molly-Mae opened up about the situation. She acknowledged the public's curiosity, stating, "A lot of questions about how do you feel about Tommy's fight and obviously the date of it." She reassured her followers by saying, "Fear not fair maiden because we're actually feeling really, really good about it and have a really good plan in place."

Molly-Mae's Perspective and Past Experiences

Molly-Mae explained that she is having the baby in London again, at The Portland hospital, where she previously gave birth to Bambi. She emphasized her lack of worry, expressing happiness about Tommy's fight since it has been over a year since his last match. "I'm not worried and I'm actually really, really happy that he's got a fight because it's been over a year since his last fight," she said.

She highlighted the positive aspects, noting, "So just having a date for something and having a focus and us having like I don't know something to look forward to in the fight like it's just I think it's actually a really, really, really positive thing and he will be here when I get home. He will be able to support me."

Reflecting on her previous experience, Molly-Mae described the period after Bambi's birth as horrendous. She was induced to ensure Tommy could be present for the birth in January 2023, ahead of his fight with Jake Paul. However, Tommy then traveled to Saudi Arabia for four weeks, leaving her to parent alone during their daughter's first month of life.

Molly-Mae admitted to feeling traumatized, telling fans she didn't sleep for a week and had a breakdown. At just 23 years old at the time, she candidly described it as going through "hell and back." She said Tommy's return home was "almost better than the day Bambi was born."

Current Plans and Family Dynamics

This time, Molly-Mae is determined to avoid a similar experience. She assured that the situation will be different, with Tommy based at home for his training camp. "He will be at home. He will be living at home. He will be having his camp at home. We're actually feeling really, really good about it," she stated.

Despite her supportive stance, her family remains concerned. Insiders reveal that her sister Zoe, in particular, is unimpressed with Tommy's decision. Zoe had previously moved in to help after Bambi's birth and has never hidden her disapproval of the boxer. A source told The Sun, "It’s a real shame that once again Tommy is going to be busy throughout the first few weeks and of course it did raise eyebrows with Zoe, who has never been his biggest fan."

The source added, "In lots of ways it feels like nothing has changed and they are back to square one, but Molly knows she can do it alone. Her parents would love her to have a conventional relationship and for Tommy to take paternity leave like other dads do but they know that isn’t going to happen."

Fan Reactions and Public Support

Fans have also voiced criticism towards Tommy for scheduling his fight so close to Molly-Mae's due date. One fan commented, "This is actually insane… he knows how much it affected Molly the first time and yet does it again?" Another added, "It’s the fact she openly came out saying how hard newborn life with Bambi was because he wasn’t there and he’s doing it again?"

Despite this, Molly-Mae has shown public support for the fight. She commented on Tommy's Instagram announcement post with, "SHOW TIME!!!" However, she has previously described feeling like her "life was over" after giving birth to Bambi and experiencing "really low lows" in the initial weeks.

Molly-Mae relied heavily on her family during Tommy's absence and became "really unwell." She recalled on her vlog, "The first four weeks of Bambi’s life I really did do it by myself and I was home alone with her. I pushed a lot of people away, I don’t know why. It sounds dramatic and it sounds intense but I guess I do have a little bit of trauma from the first few weeks."

She detailed severe health issues, saying, "The first two weeks – and this is so TMI – I suffered with severe constipation. That constipation that I experienced in the first two weeks was actually harder than my labour. I know it sounds crazy." In one instance, she was crouching in the shower "screaming crying for Zoe to call an ambulance."

Tommy's Stance and Future Outlook

Addressing his decision, Tommy insisted, "I have a job, but obviously I love my family too." This fight marks his return to the ring after over a year, with recovery from such clashes potentially taking up to six months depending on injuries.

Molly-Mae's representative declined to comment when approached by Daily Mail. As the couple prepares for this new chapter, everyone involved is hoping for a smoother experience than last time, with Molly-Mae expressing confidence in their current plans and emotional state.
