Mis-Teeq Plot 25th Anniversary Reunion Show For Debut Album
Mis-Teeq plan 25th anniversary reunion concert

Iconic noughties girl group Mis-Teeq are reportedly in discussions to reunite for a special concert, marking a major milestone for their groundbreaking debut album.

Celebrating a Chart-Topping Legacy

The trio, consisting of Alesha Dixon, 47, Sabrina Washington, 47, and Su-Elise Nash, 44, are said to be keen on celebrating the 25th anniversary of their 2001 album 'Lickin' On Both Sides'. The record was a massive commercial success, soaring to number three on the Official Albums Chart and spawning their first five singles, all of which became UK top 10 hits.

A source close to the group revealed that plans are actively being explored. "Alesha has been excitedly talking about this for a while and would love a Mis-Teeq reunion with Sabrina and Su-Elise to happen," they told The Sun. "At the minute, lots of things are being discussed and one idea is a one-off show."

The potential performance could take various forms, from an intimate gig for dedicated fans to a slot on a major television programme like Britain's Got Talent, where Alesha Dixon serves as a judge. The source emphasised the album's significance, stating it "launched Alesha, Sabrina and Su-Elise's music careers and holds a really special place in their hearts."

From Split and Feud to Reconciliation

Mis-Teeq, formed in 1999 and known for global hits like 'Scandalous', enjoyed a stellar run with two top-ten albums and seven consecutive UK chart singles. However, the group disbanded in 2005 after their record label folded.

Plans for a reunion have been stalled in the past, not least by a legal dispute between members. Contrary to earlier perceptions, it was revealed in 2020 that Sabrina Washington was suing Alesha Dixon over songwriting royalties from their first two singles. This feud now appears to be firmly in the past.

Su-Elise Nash confirmed the reconciliation to the Daily Mail, stating "Sabrina's back in the fold." She detailed their renewed connection: "We have a little Mis-Teeq WhatsApp group... to talk about business stuff... and just to see how we're all doing."

"Never Say Never" to a Comeback

While no concrete plans are finalised, the lines of communication are firmly open. Su-Elise revealed the group is in regular contact and has discussed the possibility of reuniting on stage. "We definitely have always said we would never say never," she explained. "We're all in contact at the moment, all three of us... speaking on a fairly regular basis."

She stressed that any return would be driven by the right opportunity and a sense of fun, reflecting on their influential legacy. "Mis-Teeq... were kind of breaking ground for UK garage and R&B in the UK," she said. "We're at a point now where if we did decide to do something, it would be for the fun and the giggles."

The band's representatives have been contacted for comment regarding the reunion rumours. For now, fans of the pioneering group can hold onto hope that a celebratory performance may be on the horizon.
