Liam Gallagher teases new Oasis music after 18 years

Liam Gallagher has hinted that Oasis could release their first new music in 18 years, responding to a fan on X that the band has "8 including the new 1" albums.

The comment came after a fan wrote: "Oasis have SEVEN great albums and those songs with LIVE FOREVER." Gallagher replied: "8 including the new 1, I mean happy birthday." The response attracted more than 14,000 likes and over 1,000 retweets on the platform.

Fan Reactions and Speculation

Some fans urged Gallagher not to tease them, while others expressed hope that the reunion would lead to new material. One fan asked: "Please elaborate is that just you being hopeful or is it happening?"

This is the first time Gallagher has teased new Oasis music. At the end of September, he suggested the band would discuss making new music after their upcoming Live '27 tour, saying he "can't see" the band touring again without fresh material.

Last Album Release

The last Oasis album, Dig Out Your Soul, was released on October 6, 2008. It became the band's seventh consecutive number-one album in the UK and was certified double platinum by the BPI.

Following Noel Gallagher's departure from the band in August 2009, Oasis announced their break-up. A retrospective compilation, Time Flies... 1994-2009, was released in June 2010 and reached number one in the UK.

Upcoming Tour and New Music Prospects

The 2027 tour will span 42 dates across the UK, Europe and the US from May 21 to September 26, with support from Richard Ashcroft. Venues include Celtic Park, Slane Castle and Knebworth Park, along with an 11-show residency at Manchester's Etihad Stadium.

Earlier this year, Noel Gallagher appeared to rule out new music, saying simply: "There won't be any new music."
