Kylie Minogue Teases Anniversary Tour After Health Battle

Kylie Minogue fans are in for a treat as the iconic singer has teased a huge tour to celebrate her 40th career anniversary. In a recent interview with the Sunday Times' Style magazine, the 57-year-old Australian pop legend was asked if she would be touring. 'I'm probably not meant to say this, but yes I am,' she revealed.

In another interview with Rolling Stone, Kylie elaborated on the timing. 'I mean, it might be 2027-2028, because 'Locomotion' was 1987 in Australia. And like, the very, very end of '88 was 'Lucky' kind of everywhere. So 2027-2028,' she said.

Health Battle Revealed

The tour news comes after the release of an intimate Netflix docuseries in which Kylie candidly discussed her health struggles. She first battled breast cancer in 2005, undergoing a lumpectomy and chemotherapy. After being given the all-clear, she was diagnosed again in 2021 but kept it private.

'I was able to keep it to myself and go through that year,' she shared. 'I didn't feel obliged to tell the world, and actually, I just couldn't at the time, as I was a shell of a person. I didn't want to leave the house again at one point. Thankfully, I got through it again, and all is well.'

Emotional Revelation

An emotional Kylie noted how she struggled 'to find the right time' to announce her second diagnosis, especially during the success of her Grammy-winning 2023 single 'Padam Padam'. 'Padam Padam opened so many doors for me, but on the inside, I knew that cancer wasn't just a blip in my life. And I really just wanted to say what happened so I can let go of it,' she explained.

She added, 'I would sit through interviews and every opportunity I had, I thought 'now's the time', but I kept it to myself.'

Impact on Family Plans

Kylie also opened up about how her initial diagnosis in 2005 affected her plans to start a family. She told Netflix that chemotherapy was postponed to undergo multiple rounds of IVF. 'I was 36 when I got my diagnosis so already it's - you need to be thinking about children. So I did try, I even postponed my chemotherapy to try, which was quite scary at the time because you just want it out, gone.'

She added, 'If it had happened [having a baby] it would have been just shy of a miracle. But it didn't work out that way.'

Kylie was diagnosed after a routine check-up and has stressed it was her choice to share her experience in the hopes there is 'someone out there who will benefit from a gentle reminder to do their check-ups'.
