Justin Bieber in Talks for UK Comeback at BST Hyde Park After 9-Year Absence
Justin Bieber in Talks for UK Festival Comeback

Pop superstar Justin Bieber is reportedly in advanced discussions to make a monumental return to the British stage later this year. The Canadian singer, 31, could headline the iconic American Express presents BST Hyde Park festival in London this June or July, marking his first major UK performance in nearly a decade.

Negotiations for a Major Festival Return

According to sources, Bieber's team are deep in talks with festival organisers for a slot at the prestigious London event in Hyde Park. If confirmed, he would join an already impressive line-up featuring artists like Lewis Capaldi, Maroon 5, and Pitbull. The news follows the announcement that Bieber will headline California's Coachella Festival in April.

A source close to the negotiations told The Sun: "His team are very keen not to overload him. But finally bosses think they will be able to entice him back. It's been a long time coming." Organisers are also reportedly eager to sign the 'Sorry' hitmaker for their new sister event, the Roundhay Festival in Leeds. Rapper Pitbull and Scottish singer Lewis Capaldi have already agreed to perform at both festivals.

Other options under consideration include a potential one-off stadium show in London. Bieber's last full concert in the United Kingdom was during the summer of 2017, also as part of the British Summer Time festival. He later headlined Capital's Jingle Bell Ball at The O2 arena in December 2021.

A Comeback Forged Through Health Struggles

This potential comeback carries significant emotional weight, following a period of serious health challenges for the global icon. In 2023, Bieber was forced to cancel the entire UK leg of his 'Justice World Tour', which included four sold-out dates at London's O2 Arena and other shows across the country.

The cancellation was due to his battle with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a rare neurological condition which is a complication of shingles. The syndrome caused temporary facial paralysis on one side of his face. In a heartfelt video shared at the time, a visibly affected Bieber explained his diagnosis, stating the virus had attacked the nerves in his ear and face.

He later posted a sad update on Instagram, revealing: 'Been getting progressively harder to eat which has been extremely frustrating, please pray for me.' According to the Mayo Clinic, while the hearing loss and facial paralysis associated with the syndrome are often temporary, they can sometimes become permanent.

A New Chapter: Fatherhood and Future Plans

A UK performance would mark Bieber's first major concert since embarking on fatherhood with his wife, model and businesswoman Hailey Bieber. The couple welcomed their son, Jack Blues Bieber, in August 2024 and have occasionally shared rare glimpses of their toddler on social media.

In recent interviews, Hailey has spoken about the profound impact of motherhood, calling it a "very spiritual experience." She told GQ magazine that while they feel "very protective" of their son, they are navigating parenthood "a day at a time." She also hinted at their desire to expand their family in the future, though no timeline was given.

The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for both Justin Bieber and BST Hyde Park for official comment on the ongoing rumours. For now, British fans are left hoping that 2025 will finally see the long-awaited return of one of pop music's biggest names to stages across the UK.
