Jessie J's Cancer Battle: Scott Mills Shares Health Update Ahead of Stage Return

Scott Mills has provided an update on Jessie J's health as the singer prepares to make her first public appearance since her breast cancer diagnosis. The pop star, who revealed she had early breast cancer earlier this year, will perform at BBC Radio 2 in the Park this weekend.

Jessie J underwent a mastectomy after discovering a 4 to 5cm lump, choosing surgery over radiotherapy and chemotherapy. However, she recently required hospital treatment for an infection and fluid on her lungs. She has also confirmed she needs a second surgery before the end of the year, which has pushed her planned October tour to April 2026.

Speaking to The Sun, Scott Mills said: 'She's all right and she is feeling really positive. She just needs to focus on her health and then feel ready for the tour. It's a homecoming. I'm definitely not missing that.'

The singer has been candid about the emotional toll of her diagnosis. On Jamie Laing's Great Company podcast, she said: 'I feel like cancer has robbed me of memories with my boy. I had moments where I thought, “this is going to go left and I'm going to die.”'

Jessie J recalled the moment doctors delivered the news, saying she burst into tears after being told it was probably just a cyst. She credited performing at Capital FM's Summertime Ball before her surgery with helping her through: 'That euphoria and energy… when I was put to sleep, I replayed that moment in my head.'
