Polly and Sophie Duniam, who played the twins in the 90s CBBC series Home Farm Twins, now perform together as the musical act My Bad Sister. The sisters, now 39, have enjoyed careers that include starring in We Will Rock You and touring with the Pet Shop Boys on the Pandemonium Tour.
From CBBC to the Stage
The series, based on Jenny Oldfield's children's books, aired from 1999 until 2000 and followed the adventures of twins Hannah and Helen Moore. In the show, the Moore family moved from London to Doveton, a fictional village in the Yorkshire Dales. Hannah was described as a dreamer and a 'girly girl', while her sister Helen was a daring and outspoken tomboy.
Born in London and raised in Norfolk, Polly and Sophie inherited a passion for dancing and singing from their mother, a dance instructor. They chose singing as their career path and have performed at festivals and venues across Europe, blending pop, rap and underground dance music.
Modelling, Music Videos and More
Away from singing, they have modelled for fashion designers such as Jylle Navarro and Celia Arias and appeared in Rita Ora's 2014 music video for I Will Never Let You Down. In 2015, Polly appeared on E4's Tattoo Fixers to cover up a bad tattoo.
In March 2026, the sisters teamed up with VICE for a documentary titled My Bad Sister - Inside The UK's Rave Underground. The documentary followed the duo as "they embark on a new journey of sobriety while tackling intense sibling rivalry". Its summary reads: "Polly and Sophie are My Bad Sister, the UK rave scene’s most infamous twin sisters. When a new chapter of sobriety threatens the hedonism of their music and relationship, Joe Magowan’s intimate documentary finds out if their sisterly bond can survive getting clean."
X Factor Audition and Fan Reactions
Back in 2015, the pair auditioned on The X Factor and received a huge cheer from the audience. Judge Cheryl commented: "Wow, girls, you look fun. Are you twins?" Rita Ora recognised them immediately, saying: "They used to be my dancers. I always thought they were stars." The judges agreed the pair were "trouble" and "a bit naughty", with Rita confirming: "On the tour bus I'd be trying to sleep and all I could hear is them lot with the speakers, blasting."
Fans have praised the documentary, with one saying: "Brilliant documentary. Brilliantly well put together as well." Another commented: "Watched it twice. They do look amazing, have a massive amount of energy, and have so much passion for what they do." A third shared: "Great documentary, reminds me of my 20's. More power to you ladies! Much love."
