A new £2m entertainment venue, Superlekka, is set to open in Liverpool's Baltic Triangle later this month, offering a series of interactive games and game-show-style challenges.
The venue is designed around the idea of a retro sports stadium, with visitors taking part in seven games inspired by popular TV game shows and sporting competitions.
Games and Challenges
Drawing comparisons with Takeshi's Castle and Squid Game, Superlekka will feature activities including giant beer pong, Buzzwire, a game where players guide a hoop along a wire without touching it, and a Supermarket Sweep-style challenge.
There will also be music-based games, a quiz show, and a dodgeball challenge, in which players must balance along a beam while avoiding large, swinging sponge balls.
Scoring and Experience
Each game tests different skills, with points contributing to a leader board throughout the experience. At the end, players can take their place on a winners' podium, with three armchairs representing first, second and third place, and compete to be crowned the People's Champ.
The experience is aimed at people who enjoy watching sport and shouting at the television, but may never have imagined taking part in a competition themselves.
Bar and Coffee Offerings
The venue will also have a bar serving cocktails and beer, as well as West Coast Coffee, which will offer a range of coffee options. Guests will be able to order drinks from kiosks or table-service staff.
Superlekka is the brainchild of Kip Piper, former creative director and co-founder of Golf Fang. The project is backed by a £2m investment and co-funded with Daniel Gillbanks and David Scowcroft, founders of PINS Social Club.
It is also expected to create around 30 local jobs.
