Halloween revellers take over Liverpool city centre

Thousands of people headed into Liverpool city centre on the night of October 31 to celebrate Halloween, spend time with friends and show off their fancy dress outfits. Several Halloween-related events took place in the city that day, all featuring people with impressive costumes, and the town centre was no different.

The ECHO's photographer went out to capture the atmosphere and document the lengths some people had gone to with their choice of fancy dress. Outfits ranged from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Minions to the occasional "droog" from A Clockwork Orange.

Busy night in the city

The night was especially busy, coinciding with the first weekend of the River of Light festival, which had faced cancellations and delays the previous week. Various scheduled Halloween events contributed to the full-scale Halloween fun seen out in the streets, pubs and clubs around the city centre.

A gallery of photos captured the evening's activities, with 25 images showing people out enjoying Halloween in Liverpool city centre.
