James Corden and Ruth Jones have been spotted filming their new Apple TV show, The Choir, in a marina in the South East of England. The comedy legends, known for their roles in Gavin & Stacey, were joined by fellow cast member David Harewood on a floating pontoon when the scene descended into chaos as the pontoon started to sink.

Cast plunged into icy water

The group were spotted plunging into the freezing water before being rescued by the RNLI. Ruth, who plays Lisa, was seen wearing a lifejacket after the plunge. Despite the cold temperatures across the nation, the cast were seen filming in the marina, with Ruth appearing to enjoy the process despite the chilly weather.

Brother and sister storyline

The new comedy, which will air over eight episodes, sees James and Ruth reunite onscreen as brother and sister, Ben and Lisa. After becoming estranged, they find themselves reuniting through a local choir group. Ben had been living abroad, leaving him estranged from his sister, but after a change in circumstances, he returns to the town he never liked, coming back to “a life he never wanted, a town he never liked and a family from which he's estranged”.
