Barras Market to Host Spooky Halloween Night with Creepy Surprise

Glasgow's Barras Market will welcome visitors for an evening of Halloween fun on Thursday, October 29, from 5pm until 10pm, featuring live entertainment, food, and more than 100 stalls, with an eerie surprise planned for 6.58pm.

The much-loved market, known for its bustling stalls and long-standing history, will take on a dark atmosphere as local traders, performers, and food vendors come together for the celebrations. The event is family friendly, with dogs also welcome, and fancy dress is encouraged.

Zombie Theme and Cryptic Warning

This year's event will draw inspiration from one of horror's most iconic villains, with zombies at the heart of the spooky theme. The evening will include live DJs and performances, bringing a "touch of spooky magic" to the stage.

However, one particularly eerie surprise has already caught the attention of the market's followers online. Taking to Instagram, the Barras Market shared a cryptic warning about the arrival of mysterious caretakers, hinting that guests could be in for an unsettling encounter.

The post read: "BEWARE OF THE CARETAKERS! For generations they've swept the floors, locked the gates and quietly watched over the Barras."

"Nobody notices them...until now. They've got a shift to finish. 6.58pm. Attend at your own risk"

The unusual warning has left plenty to the imagination, with visitors told to keep an eye out for the caretakers when the clock strikes 6.58pm.

Over 100 Stalls and Free Entry

Away from the spooky surprises, there will be more than 100 stalls to explore, with traders selling handmade crafts, gifts, and seasonal items. Those in attendance will also be able to grab food and drink from food vendors situated around the market, while taking in the entertainment.

Entry to the Halloween event is free, making it an affordable night out for families. Although there will be plenty of stalls to shop at and food vendors to buy from, so it might be best to bring money along. However, you do not need to buy something to visit the Barras Market Halloween evening.
