The creative force behind iconic Australian label Ksubi, Pip Edwards, marked the launch of her latest collection with a quintessentially stylish Sydney soirée this week. The co-founder and creative director hosted a buzzing party at The Metro Social on Thursday night, drawing a crowd of local A-listers who embraced the high-fashion, high-energy brief.
A Night of Nostalgic Fashion
The event celebrated 'The Edwards Edit', Ksubi's newest offering which pays homage to the mid-noughties 'Indie Sleaze' aesthetic. Edwards, 45, served as the evening's best advertisement, looking effortlessly chic in her own designs. She showcased a denim-on-denim ensemble that highlighted her trim figure, featuring low-rise jeans and a cropped jacket accessorised with a black belt, handbag, and sequined heels. Her signature blonde hair fell in messy waves, complemented by a dramatic cat-eye and glossy lip.
The party, dubbed the 'Bring Back Life' event, quickly transformed the venue into a vibrant nightclub as the evening progressed. Edwards explained the inspiration, stating that dance floors are woven into the brand's DNA. She reminisced about "the sweat, the chaos, the 'live in the moment' energy" of Ksubi's early underground origins.
A-List Attendees Turn Heads
The guest list was a who's who of Sydney's fashionable elite, each interpreting the theme with personalised flair. Christian Wilkins, the 30-year-old model and son of presenter Richard Wilkins, commanded attention in a sparkling halter top and low-rise slacks. With his long hair worn down and a chiselled makeup look, he was photographed alongside Australian media personality Jana Hocking, 42, who made a striking impression in a busty red sleeveless top and baggy jeans.
Reality television star Carina Mirabile, 32 from Married At First Sight, ensured all eyes were on her in a daring snakeskin matching set. The ensemble offered a glimpse of her black bra and washboard abs, finished with black pointed boots and bronzed makeup.
Fashion's Finest Celebrate
The celebration also attracted influencers and models from various circles. Fashion influencer and Formula One enthusiast Amy Pejkovic, 32, opted for a casual yet chic look in a cropped grey tank and white jeans, posing with a bottle of Don Julio tequila, which collaborated on the event. Model Morgan Waterhouse attended in a knit cardigan that revealed a glimpse of his chest, paired with ripped jeans and a backwards hat. He was pictured next to Love Island star Tay Reid, who kept it cool in a rugby-style sweater, baggy jeans, and orange-tinted glasses.
Full Circle for Ksubi and Its Founder
Speaking about the new collection and the party, Edwards expressed a sense of coming full circle. "With The Edwards Edit, I wanted to tap straight back into that spirit," she said. "This moment feels full-circle - bringing back that raw, unfiltered attitude and giving low-rise denim its rightful return to the spotlight."
She added her excitement that Ksubi was "leaning back into the nightlife culture that started it all, because that’s where the magic always happens." Edwards originally founded Ksubi in 2004 with her former partner, Dan Single. After leaving the company in 2009, she made a powerful return as its creative director in 2024, steering the brand back to its rebellious roots with this latest launch.
The night proved to be a successful fusion of fashion, nostalgia, and Sydney's vibrant social scene, solidifying Ksubi's comeback and the enduring appeal of its indie-inspired vision.
