The Zara blazer worn by the Duchess of Cambridge during official engagements in Auckland has sold out within hours. The navy double-breasted jacket, featuring gold buttons and priced at £79.99, was available in all sizes when fashion fans first identified it, but quickly disappeared from the high street retailer's online store.
Kate paired the blazer with a Breton stripe top from Me + Em, navy skinny jeans and cork and suede wedges from Stuart Weitzman. The casual ensemble contrasted sharply with the black Jenny Packham dress adorned with silver fern beading she wore the previous evening for a state reception with New Zealand's Prime Minister John Key.
This is not the first item from the royal tour to sell out. The Tory Burch black and white geometric print dress worn for Prince George's first official engagement also sold out quickly in small sizes. Additionally, the £75 'sailboat smocked dungarees' by Rachel Riley worn by Prince George became an instant hit, demonstrating the so-called 'George effect'.
