Duchess Sophie Wears Princess Kate's Sparkly Erdem Gown on Canadian Tour

Duchess Sophie has been turning heads during her official visit to Canada, and her latest outfit has drawn comparisons to one of the most stylish royals: the Princess of Wales. The Duchess of Edinburgh, 58, stepped out for a reception and dinner at the Queen's Landing Hotel in Niagara on the Lake wearing a floor-length Erdem 'Lindsay' gown in light grey with metallic lace overlay. The dress features a high round neckline, long sheer lace sleeves, and a pleated skirt.

Sophie accessorised the gown with a cream satin belt and diamante buckle, a silver 'Maud Clutch' by Anya Hindmarch, and nude platform heels. Princess Kate, 41, wore the same Erdem style six years ago at the UK-India Year of Culture launch event hosted by the late Queen. At that time, the dress was a midi-length version with puffed sleeves and a more understated belt, paired with glittering Oscar De La Renta heels and drop earrings from Indian designer Anita Dongha.

The event in Canada was organised to support the Lincoln and Welland Regimental Foundation, where Sophie serves as Colonel-in-Chief. She paid homage to her hosts with two brooches: a 'Service Before Self' poppy brooch and the Insignia of the Lincoln and Welland Regiment. She also wore a Diamond Maple Leaf Pendant by Maison Birch, which she added to her collection in 2013.

This is not the first time Sophie has worn the Erdem gown; she previously wore it at the Royal Variety Performance at the Royal Albert Hall last Christmas. Her Canadian tour has also included a paisley-printed Etro dress and Aquazzura ankle boots, a favourite brand of Meghan Markle.
