Stacey Solomon's showbiz friend has given insight into what she is like away from the cameras. The 36-year-old first appeared on British TV back in 2009 when she competed on The X Factor, finishing in third place. Since then, Stacey has won I'm a Celebrity in 2010, met her husband Joe Swash, and hosted the BBC show Sort Your Life Out for six series.
Vicky Pattison's Thoughts on Stacey
In a recent chat between Kate Thornton and reality TV star Vicky Pattison, Stacey's personality away from the cameras was discussed. Thornton named Stacey, Rylan Clark, and Vicky as stars who built solid careers after not being taken seriously initially. She said: "The common thread between the three of you is you were cut as a joke, Rylan was cut as a joke in the edit, Stacey, it was a bit like, 'Oh look at her, sweet but the lights aren't really on are they?' You, 'Look at her, she's drunk again' and actually you've all ended up having the last laugh."
Having worked with both Stacey and Rylan, Vicky shared her thoughts on the stars. She said: "They're gorgeous and they are exactly as they seem. She is so fun and such a normal girl's girl and a lovely woman." Vicky also described Rylan as "hilarious and quick-witted" and the "life and soul of the party." She added that both are smart people.
Reality TV's Two-Dimensional Characters
Speaking on the White Wine Question Time podcast, Vicky explained: "And despite that public perception, which is very real, very genuine, that is exactly what they are, they are real and they're real smart. And I think reality TV has a real way of creating two-dimensional characters that work for their narrative, that work for their storylines." She also added: "Heaven forbid you be a three-dimensional, multifaceted woman who can be opinionated and strong and sassy."
Stacey Addresses Divorce Rumours
Stacey came under fire earlier this year after she was seen without her wedding ring, sparking divorce speculation. Addressing the rumours, Stacey recently said: "Who cares if the whole world is like: 'Oh, they're on the brink of divorce'? Being in the public eye I think creates certain pressures, but not on our relationship because half the time what they're saying, if we know it's not true, who cares? Sometimes I fancy the pants off him and can't wait to come home to see him. Sometimes I'm like: 'Get out of my stratosphere – stay away from me.' I think we're just like any other couple."
