Strictly's Sarah Storey in tears ahead of Icons Week Tango

Strictly Come Dancing contestant Sarah Storey has shared that she was reduced to tears while learning her routine for Icons Week. The Paralympian, one of 13 celebrities competing for the Glitterball trophy, is partnered with professional Julian Caillon.

On Saturday, October 10, viewers saw Sarah and Julian perform the Paso Doble, receiving a total score of 20 from the judges. That placed them near the bottom of the leaderboard alongside Lawrence Robb and John Nellis. The leaderboard is expected to shift again this weekend as the celebrities take on Icons Week.

Emotional rehearsal revelations

Sarah and Julian are set to perform a Tango to Shania Twain's song "That Don't Impress Me Much." However, rehearsals have not gone as smoothly as planned. In an Instagram story, the 48-year-old was seen frowning while looking into a mirror, writing: "Big fat Tango tears almost taking me down today."

She added: "Typical that the words of the song I was making all the mistakes in were 'that don't impress me much' (No one said becoming an Icon was going to be easy though)."

Later, Sarah shared a video from her partner's account in which they discussed the 'rollercoaster' of a day. She said: "Thankfully, we finished the day in a much better place. I'm so grateful to Julian Caillon for being prepared to work late and keep going over and over everything until it sinks in."

Delta Goodrem pulls out with injury

Viewers will have to wait until Saturday night to see Sarah's performance and whether she can avoid the dance-off. However, one star missing this weekend is Delta Goodrem. The Australian singer has been forced to pull out of the show for a week after injuring her rib.

In a statement, Delta said: "I'm absolutely gutted that a rib injury means I won't be able to dance on Strictly this week. I've been loving every second of this experience, so having to sit this out is heartbreaking- especially after the height of Saturday night."

She continued: "I can not tell you how much I love being a part of this magical show. I'm going to focus on resting and recovering, and hopefully, I'll be back on that dancefloor very soon."

Delta added: "Thank you so much to everyone for all the love and support. It's so appreciated. I'll be cheering everyone on from the sidelines this week. Sending all my love, Delta xx."

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday on BBC One from 6:15pm.
