Strictly Come Dancing professional Nadiya Bychkova, who was axed from the show earlier this year, is reportedly in talks to return to the programme in a new capacity. The Ukrainian dancer, who was part of the BBC show for nine years, has confirmed that discussions are underway for her to potentially choreograph professional numbers in future series.

Talks for a Comeback

In an interview with Hello magazine, Bychkova stated: "Absolutely. It is absolutely [on the cards]. We are talking about, hopefully in the future, me coming and choreographing some of the pro numbers. The team have known for years how passionate I am about creating things and choreographing." She added that many producers had attended her own shows, making this a natural progression.

Exit from the Show

Bychkova was one of five professional dancers to leave Strictly Come Dancing this year, alongside Karen Hauer, Gorka Marquez, Luba Mushtuk, and Michelle Tsiakkas. The BBC confirmed her departure in March, thanking her for her "incredible contribution" and noting that she brought "elegance, artistry and unwavering dedication to the ballroom" since joining in 2017.

Following her exit, Bychkova was linked with a potential appearance on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! However, she now appears set for a return to the Strictly fold.

Thoughts on New Hosts

Bychkova also shared her excitement about the new presenting team, which includes Johannes Radebe, Emma Willis, and Josh Widdicombe, who will replace Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly. "It's lovely to see Johannes stepping into such a big role," she said. "I think audiences connect with him because he brings warmth, authenticity and joy. Honestly, I think it's wonderful when dancers are given opportunities to grow beyond just one role. We all evolve creatively."

A Fond Farewell

Reflecting on her time on the show, Bychkova released a statement upon her departure: "After nine wonderful years, this part of my journey with Strictly Come Dancing is evolving. There is something truly special about being part of a programme that plays such a big part in so many people's lives." She thanked fans, partners, fellow professionals, judges, and behind-the-scenes staff, adding: "I joined the show as an athlete and a double world champion. Along the way I have learned so much about myself and other people."

She concluded: "I look forward to being part of the Strictly world for many years to come in ways I am beginning to explore. Life feels full of possibilities."
