Kelvin Fletcher thanks fans after ITV show pulled off air

Kelvin Fletcher has shared a message with fans after his ITV show was pulled off air. Fans have been following the former Emmerdale star as he navigates life on his Cheshire farm as part of the programme, Fletcher's Family Farm. It usually airs every Sunday morning, but was cancelled this week due to football coverage.

Viewers missed episode due to football

Viewers missed out on an episode due to scheduling conflicts with sports coverage on ITV1. It was replaced by EFL coverage on Sunday morning as Southampton vs Portsmouth kicked off at 12pm.

The "Fletchers' on the Farm" official Instagram account shared an update with followers yesterday ahead of the missing episode. It said: "No Fletchers' Family Farm tomorrow due to the football!" with a crying face emoji.

Kelvin thanks fans in video

Kelvin has since shared a video to Instagram, as he also thanked fans for their support on the latest series. Posting a clip of him stood with fields and blue skies in the background, he said: "Hello guys, well unfortunately we weren't on [TV] today, apparently it was the football."

"We've had loads of messages asking why we've not been on. Episode three, I think you guys were expecting, I think that's next week but you'll have to check with the schedule."

He added: "Thank you as ever for all the messages thus far, for the messages on this series. Your comments are quite overwhelming really."

Family life and rebuilding plans

In the clip, Kelvin is outside in the fields with his twin boys, Maximus and Mateusz, who were born in May 2022. Kelvin shares four children with his wife Liz. They also share older children, daughter Marnie, nine and son Milo, six.

Fletchers' Family Farm has been a hit with fans since it first aired in October 2023. The documentary series sees millions of viewers tune in as the family navigate their life on the farm located in the Peak District. The site is a private farm and is not currently open to the public on a day-to-day basis. However, Kelvin and Liz have hosted open days in the past and regular seasonal events.

In a recent episode, Kelvin and Liz shared an update about rebuilding the family's fire-damaged home. The family were forced to leave their home after a fire broke out while they were on holiday last year. Now, the couple are hoping to rebuild the house for their children again.

While preparing the farm's holiday cottage for guests, Liz said: "The next big project is actually our house, which I didn't ever think was going to be on the list. But yeah, it'll be nice to put this energy and effort into the house now and build a home for the kids."

"The twins don't remember living in it. That's how long it's been. They call it the burnt house, which is sad, really, but listen, one day we'll be able to move back in, and it'll just be their home."

Although there is still plenty of work ahead, Liz said she was eager to get started. She said: "I imagine it'll take us forever to finish it, but I guess that'll be part of our story now, won't it? I can't wait to lay some bricks, start mixing some cement, doing some hard graft. I'm excited for it."

A recent post on Instagram gave fans an insight into the current filming schedule, with future Christmas episodes already on the cards. Sharing a photo of Liz and the cast and crew in the kitchen, which was decorated with holly, pine cones and even a nutcracker, the caption said: "Day one over and out [Christmas tree emoji] what a team."

There was also a photo of a basket of cauliflower, cabbage and broccoli with a perfectly-decorated Christmas tree in the background.

Fletchers' Family Farm returns next Sunday at 11.30am on ITV1 and ITVX.
