Big Brother fans erupt as Gemma Collins enters house in new twist

Gemma Collins is set to enter the Big Brother house tonight (October 9), as hosts Aj Odudu and Will Best confirmed the latest twist in the ITV2 competition.

The Only Way Is Essex star will arrive as part of the show's weekly twist format, which has seen a new surprise introduced every week since the series returned to screens four weeks ago. Previous twists included the House of Nothing, where housemates were stripped of everyday luxuries, and Double Trouble week, which saw pop duo Jedward enter to cause chaos. The current Week of Revelations has focused on exposing housemates' real feelings about each other.

Viewers react to Gemma Collins' return

Long-term fans will remember Gemma's stint on Celebrity Big Brother in 2016, where she finished in seventh place. The 45-year-old became known for her memorable quotes, including "I'm claustrophobic, Darren," shouted during a tense exchange.

News of her return has been met with excitement on social media. One fan wrote: "#BBUK THE ONE AND ONLY GEMMA COLLINS IS GOING IN." Another said: "I AM SO EXCITED! GONE FROM JEDWARD's MY FAVOURITES TO ANOTHER FAVOURITE GEMMA COLLINS. Let's gooooo!!!!"

Recent projects and upcoming appearances

The appearance comes weeks after Gemma launched a Sky docu-series called Everything All At Once. A synopsis for the eight-part show describes it as offering "extraordinary access to Gemma behind closed doors," revealing a side of her "rarely seen before."

It continues: "She allows the cameras into the moments when the bravado drops; when she is vulnerable, exhausted, hopeful and trying to make sense of everything happening around her. And amongst the challenge of trying to keep everything together, Gemma meets life head-on, with the honesty and humour that have made her such a uniquely recognisable figure."

The synopsis adds: "Across eight episodes, Gemma Collins: Everything. All At Once. is a raw, relatable and deeply human portrait of a woman navigating love, family, fertility, grief and the pressures of life in the public eye as she tries to keep moving forward while everything around her is changing. Sometimes, everything really does happen all at once."

Big Brother is streaming on ITVX.
