Alan Rickman's meticulous attention to detail is highlighted as a collection of his personal scripts and mementoes goes under the hammer. The late actor's annotated shooting script for Die Hard and a hand-drawn Halloween card from Harry Potter co-star Rupert Grint are among the lots.
Propstore, the Los Angeles and London-based auction firm, is staging a three-day sale featuring items from Rickman's personal archive. The most highly valued lot, estimated at £30,000-£60,000, includes his shooting script for the 1988 thriller Die Hard, filled with handwritten notes and alternative dialogue suggestions, along with a call sheet, press packs, and an invitation to the film's gala preview.
Items from the Harry Potter series are also on offer, including a gold-plated pocket watch given to cast and crew of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (estimate £2,000-£4,000), his set of Harry Potter novels (£1,000-£2,000), a Snape toy figure (£500-£1,000), and the Halloween card from Rupert Grint (£2,000-£4,000).
Other notable lots include a box of items from Truly Madly Deeply with annotated script pages and a thank-you note from director Anthony Minghella, a shooting script from Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (estimate £10,000-£20,000), and caps from Galaxy Quest (£4,000-£8,000). Items from Dogma, The Winter Guest, and A Little Chaos are also available.
The Propstore Entertainment Memorabilia sale takes place at Bafta, London, and online from 5-7 December.
