Zoe Ball's Mystery 'Lodger' Revealed as BAFTA Winner

Zoe Ball has hinted at a new romance, revealing that a mystery man has moved into her home and boasts a collection of awards, including a BAFTA. The BBC Radio 2 presenter, 54, made the comments on her Dig It podcast with friend Jo Whiley, two years after her split from construction worker Michael Reed.

Ball described the man as her 'lodger' and noted that he has 'won loads of awards,' including a BAFTA. She compared his accolades to her own, mentioning her Sony award and a BAFTA for the final episode of Live and Kicking. 'The lodger has won loads of awards,' she said, without naming him.

The broadcaster also addressed speculation about taking over as host of Strictly Come Dancing, following the departure of Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman. 'I think everyone would like to do that job,' she said, calling it 'the best Saturday night show.' Ball previously hosted It Takes Two.

Ball's relationship with Reed ended in 2022 after five years, with friends saying it had 'run its course.' A source told The Sun at the time that Ball was 'gutted' but 'better off without Michael,' noting that they had been arguing over trivial matters and drifting apart.
