Sharon Osbourne Thanks Fans for 'Overwhelming Love' After Ozzy's Death

Sharon Osbourne has publicly thanked fans for the 'otherworldly amount of love' she has received following the death of her husband, Ozzy Osbourne. The Black Sabbath frontman died at the age of 76 on July 22 from a reported heart attack, just weeks after reuniting with the band on stage for the Back To The Beginning farewell concert in Birmingham.

In an Instagram post, the 72-year-old former X Factor judge shared a video of herself trying falconry with her daughter Kelly. She wrote: 'I'm still having trouble finding the words to express how grateful I am for the overwhelming love and support you've shown on social media. Your comments, posts, and tributes have brought me more comfort than you know. None of it has gone unnoticed, in fact, it's carried me through many nights.'

Sharon described the falconry experience as 'magical', adding: 'The connection you make with these powerful birds is built entirely on trust and confidence. They'll choose to perch on you only if they sense you are safe and unafraid of them. It's a bond I know all too well.' She concluded: 'I love you all, and I thank you deeply for the otherworldly amount of love you continue to send my way.'

Spice Girl Emma Bunton commented: 'You beautiful soul, sending so much love to you all.' In July, fans joined the Osbourne family to pay tribute as a funeral procession made its way through Birmingham. Sharon and their children were visibly moved at the Black Sabbath bench, which was overflowing with tributes, balloons and flowers. Bostin Brass musicians played Black Sabbath tunes, and fans tossed flowers at the hearse.

Ozzy, who was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2019, performed his last gig on July 5, a concert that also featured Anthrax, Metallica and Guns N' Roses. The couple were married for 43 years.
