Charlotte Chilton, a contestant on the BBC reality show The Traitors, has spoken out about her dramatic exit after being wrongly banished during Friday's episode. The 27-year-old appeared on Good Morning Britain alongside fellow contestant Charlie Bees to discuss the betrayal she felt upon discovering that fan favourite Harry was a Traitor.
Charlotte, who was a Faithful, admitted she was shocked to learn Harry's true identity. 'When we first found out, I literally just went: 'I'm going to kill him',' she said. 'Then I was like I'm a bit proud of him at the same time. I couldn't decide which one I was.' She added that fellow contestant Diane was also furious, having been unaware of Harry's deception.
Addressing her game plan, Charlotte revealed she had suspected Paul, who was banished last week, was a Traitor despite publicly insisting he was a Faithful. 'I had a feeling Paul was a Traitor, and I always said my game plan was never to get rid of one and to just stick close,' she explained. 'I professed constantly he was a Faithful, and then eventually he started making these big ball moves. I thought, I've got to back Harry, who I thought was completely Faithful, and get him out. Obviously, I did that, but then I am collateral!'
The interview comes as viewers noticed a humorous spelling error during the banishment round table. Harry mistakenly wrote 'Charlot' instead of 'Charlotte' on his voting slip, prompting laughter on social media. One fan tweeted: 'I'm glad The Traitors isn't a spelling contest because every night people's names are spelt comically wrong – tonight's favourite being 'Charlot'.'
The Traitors continues every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 9pm on BBC One.
