The former partner of TOWIE star Harry Derbidge has been left utterly devastated following the sudden and tragic death of his fiancé.
Heartbreaking Announcement on Social Media
Dean Rowland shared the devastating news of his fiancé Steven Hewitt's passing in an emotional post on Facebook. He expressed his profound grief, stating his heart was "broken and will never be the same again."
Alongside a selfie of the couple in matching black gym wear, Dean wrote a poignant tribute. "The world didn't deserve you, the best of the best, you’ll forever be my one true love," he added in the caption. "I can’t believe I’ve got to go on without you."
A Love Story Cut Short
The couple, who had been together for four years, got engaged in January 2025 during a romantic surprise proposal at the Gleneagles Hotel in Scotland. Dean had shared joyful videos of the moment, writing, "I said YES! Completely overwhelmed and filled with joy."
Just months ago, in October 2025, the pair were actively searching for a wedding venue while finishing renovations on their home. Steven, a hairdresser from Glasgow, passed away almost exactly a year after their engagement.
Reflecting on their time together, Dean thanked Steven for being "my constant, my calm and my chaos all in one." He added that the past year taught him that "life moves fast, moments matter and the right people make everything better."
Outpouring of Support and Past Relationship
Friends and fans flooded the comments with messages of condolence and support for Dean. One heartfelt response read, "Dean I’m so sorry my heart is completely broken for you and all Steven’s family and friends."
Dean was previously engaged to Harry Derbidge of The Only Way Is Essex. That relationship ended in 2021 after four years, with the couple having postponed their wedding twice due to the pandemic and putting adoption plans on hold.
At the time of their split, both described it as heartbreaking. Harry said on the show it was "the most heartbreaking like awful thing I’ve had to go through," while Dean emphasised his "utmost respect" for Harry, calling their four years together "the most amazing memories."
