Tasha Ghouri in Tears Over Trolls and Breakup

Former Love Island star Tasha Ghouri broke down in tears during a recent radio interview, admitting that last year was the most difficult period of her life. The 27-year-old reality TV personality, who rose to fame on series eight of the hit ITV show, revealed that relentless online trolls left her questioning her career in television and struggling with her mental health.

Emotional Radio Interview

Tasha joined Hits Radio host Fleur East, 38, for an International Women's Day Special on Wednesday, recorded in partnership with The King's Trust. During the show, Fleur asked Tasha how she has coped with being in the public eye and reading negative online commentary.

Speaking through tears, Tasha said: 'It's tough. Last year was actually the hardest year for that. I don't want to get emotional...sorry. It still gets to me. I've been three years in the industry, and it still gets to me. I see comments of ableism to this day - I still get that.'

The Depths of Despair

Tasha described how the constant criticism took a severe toll on her wellbeing. 'Last year was the hardest, I lost myself completely. I was in the depths, and it got to the point where I stopped loving what I was doing,' she confessed. The situation was compounded by her public breakup from former boyfriend Andrew Le Page, 31, whom she met on Love Island in 2022.

The split occurred in January last year, shortly after the couple had purchased their first home together and begun renovations. Despite Andrew supporting Tasha during her Strictly Come Dancing stint in late 2024, their relationship ended unexpectedly, shocking fans.

Online Abuse Escalates

Just one month after the breakup, Tasha was forced to address trolls on social media who accused her of 'taking' their shared dog Luna from Andrew. She explained that Andrew had moved back to Guernsey and left Luna in her care until he returned to the UK.

In a Snapchat response, Tasha wrote: 'Since there's so many horrible messages I've got about taking Luna off Andrew – first off, she is our dog who we got together. He is in Guernsey & decided to leave Luna here with me as he couldn't take her, it wasn't ideal.'

Mental Health Impact

The online abuse had devastating consequences for Tasha's mental health. She revealed in an Instagram Q&A that the trolling 'massively impacted my mental health to the point I didn't want to leave my bedroom.' The breakup soon turned bitter, with Andrew accusing Tasha of being on celebrity dating app Raya while they were still in a relationship.

Tasha addressed the split publicly, stating: 'No-one knows what went on in our relationship behind closed doors. Don't believe every headline you read in the press. Break-ups happen in life. Just because ours is in the 'public eye' doesn't make it any different.'

Finding Happiness Again

Despite the challenges, Tasha has since found happiness with new partner Cam, a presenter who appears on CBBC series One Zoo Three and BBC show OZT Goes Wild. The couple began dating in May last year after being spotted together at a Strictly Come Dancing live show in October.

Cam, whose family runs Hertfordshire Zoo, is the managing director of The Big Cat Sanctuary, a non-profit charity that rescues wild cats and protects endangered species. The couple reportedly bonded over their shared love for animals, with Tasha having rescued her dog Luna from Spanish charity Alora Dog Rescue and Homeward Bound.

Tasha expressed her renewed happiness: 'Then to go through such hardship, going through a public breakup - it was tough. I had to really try and find my happiness again, which I have now. I've got an amazing partner, Cam, and I truly feel like I'm radiating from inside because I had to go through that battle with trolls online.'

A Message of Kindness

Throughout her emotional revelations, Tasha emphasized the importance of compassion in online interactions. 'Kindness is free, and I think people forget that,' she stated, urging social media users to consider the human impact of their comments.

A source close to the new couple revealed: 'Tasha and Cam are in the early stages of dating. They have been seeing each other for around a month now and share so much in common, from a personal and professional standpoint. Cam is a great guy and has a lot going for him, Tasha has definitely been thrilled getting to know him and the feeling is mutual.'

Tasha concluded her radio interview with a message of resilience, describing her journey as 'a fresh new beginning' after what she called 'the year of shedding.' Her experience highlights the significant mental health challenges faced by public figures dealing with online abuse and personal struggles under public scrutiny.
