Tamzin Outhwaite, the former EastEnders star, has opened up about her love life following her 2024 split from younger partner Tom Child. Speaking exclusively at the Football for Peace 'Rehydrate the Earth' Water Gala in London, the 55-year-old actress revealed she is thoroughly enjoying her single status but remains hopeful about finding a long-term partner in the future.
Single Life and Future Hopes
Outhwaite told the Mirror: 'I'm really enjoying single life at the moment - but I do hope to meet someone to settle down with, in the future.' However, she made it clear that she would never participate in a dating show like Celebs Go Dating, stating, 'I'd be far, far too nervous to go on a dating show. I can act, but reality TV is definitely not my thing!'
The actress ended her six-and-a-half-year relationship with Tom Child, 33, in 2024, describing the split as amicable and noting that they have moved into the 'friend zone.'
Football for Peace Gala
The glamorous event, hosted by broadcaster Nick Ede, brought together celebrities, sports figures, business leaders, and environmental campaigners to raise awareness of the global water crisis. Attendees included British Airways CEO Sean Doyle, Princess Katrina of Former Yugoslavia, football legends Paul Dickov, Michael Chopra, Oumar Niasse, and women's football star Alisha Lehmann. Also present were NFL players Efe Obada and Jason Bell, former Loose Woman Andrea McLean, Denise Van Outen, boxer Derek Chisora, and DJ Joel Corry.
Andrea McLean's New Book
Andrea McLean, who left Loose Women in 2020 after 13 years, confessed to feeling nervous about returning to the public eye ahead of her new book, Shameless, out next week. 'My imposter syndrome is at an all-time high!' she admitted. 'But I'm also looking forward to returning to ITV's Lorraine next week.' The memoir, published on 21 May, uses her personal setbacks as a roadmap for readers to build resilience and overcome disappointment and shame, covering topics like leaving a high-profile job, financial hardships, past marriages, and cancel culture.
Denise Van Outen's Secret Project
Denise Van Outen made an early departure to film a secret new TV project, staying at the Hilton hotel next door for a 5am pick-up. The 51-year-old has recently been working with Johnny Vaughan again, sparking rumors of a potential Big Breakfast reunion.
Rehydrate the Earth Initiative
The gala supported Football for Peace's 'Rehydrate the Earth' campaign, a ten-year initiative focusing on water restoration, youth education, and environmental resilience. Funds raised will support groundwater recharge projects in Rajasthan, India, benefiting over 7,000 people across nine villages, as well as UK-based youth river restoration and water literacy programs. Guests were reminded that 2.2 billion people worldwide lack access to safe drinking water, and no river in England currently meets good ecological health standards.
Football for Peace Co-Founder Kash Siddiqi said: 'Through the power of sport, we can educate, unite and inspire action.' The event, sponsored by We Buy Your Property, featured moving speeches from youth representatives and a fundraising auction supporting projects in the UK and India.
