Sydney Sweeney eyes Cotswolds village Little Tew as UK home

Hollywood actress Sydney Sweeney is reportedly planning to buy a home in the Cotswolds village of Little Tew, Oxfordshire, a move that would put her near other high-profile celebrities.

The White Lotus and Euphoria star is said to have viewed a property in the picturesque village, known for its honey-coloured stone buildings dating back to the 17th century and winding, tree-lined lanes.

Celebrity Neighbours and Local Appeal

Little Tew is close to David and Victoria Beckham's estate near Great Tew, and just a few miles from Banbury, near Geri Halliwell's grounds. Soho Farmhouse, the exclusive members' club favoured by A-listers including Meghan Markle, is a 10-minute drive away.

Sweeney would also join fellow American Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, in the area. A source said: "Sydney has visited the Cotswolds twice in the past 10 months, and absolutely loves it. She viewed property there within the past three months."

Career Move and Lifestyle Change

The actress reportedly told friends she will spend more time in the UK for her career, hoping to land a role in MGM Amazon's James Bond reboot. Pinewood Studios are about an hour away, which would allow her to stay at home while filming.

The source added: "She doesn't get bothered by locals, who are all well-used to seeing A-listers, and finds village life incredibly cute and quaint. It's also a huge change of pace from LA and all the vultures circling. And she can lead a more peaceful life in the countryside."

Local Reaction and Market Trends

The historic village recorded only 253 residents in the 2011 UK Census, and has no shops, pubs, or hotels within its boundaries. Locals in nearby Great Tew were open to the move. One told The Sun: "Who doesn't love seeing a famous person in the village? I think it would be great if the move goes ahead. She seems like a lovely woman."

According to a recent report from Savills, international buyers accounted for just over a fifth of all sales at £1.5 million or above in the Cotswolds last year, up from the 12% average in the past five years. Sweeney is understood to be making the move alongside boyfriend Scooter Braun, 45, a multi-millionaire businessman she met at Jeff Bezos' wedding. She previously visited the region last Christmas, posting pictures of horse riding and a holiday at Soho Farmhouse.
