Scary Movie Star Jayne Trcka's Cause of Death Confirmed
The cause of death for actress and former bodybuilder Jayne Trcka, best known for her role in the horror spoof Scary Movie, has been officially disclosed by medical authorities. Trcka, who passed away on December 12 in San Diego, California, at the age of 62, succumbed to hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, according to a report from the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office obtained by USA Today.
Medical Details of the Tragic Passing
The medical examiner ruled her death an accident, noting that her condition was complicated by a left femoral fracture. Hypertensive heart disease, as explained by the Cleveland Clinic, results from damage to the heart due to years of unmanaged high blood pressure, leading to a thickened and weakened heart muscle that can cause heart failure. Atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease involves plaque buildup in arterial walls, which can lead to serious conditions such as coronary heart disease or cerebrovascular disease, potentially causing strokes or aneurysms.
Trcka's son initially confirmed her death to TMZ in January, revealing that she was found by a friend who had been unable to reach her by phone in the days prior. At the time, a spokesperson for the San Diego Medical Examiner mentioned there was trauma to her body, but the full medical report has now provided clarity on the underlying causes.
