Rylan Clark Reveals Stroke Scare After Divorce

Rylan Clark has disclosed that he feared he had suffered a stroke while struggling with his mental health following his divorce from Dan Neal. The 34-year-old TV and radio presenter, who married the former Big Brother contestant in 2015, announced their separation in July 2021. In his recent memoir, Clark admitted that their marriage was affected by his historic cheating.

Speaking on Matt Willis's podcast On The Mend, Clark described the physical and mental toll of the breakup. He said he could not see, hear, eat, breathe, or sleep, and his weight dropped to nine stone. 'It was like I'd had a stroke and my mum thought I was having a stroke,' he recalled. 'I just got into this dark hole where I thought I was crazy because nothing was making sense to me.'

Clark admitted he attempted suicide several times but is now grateful those attempts were unsuccessful. He spent time living at his mother's house, frightened to leave. Reflecting on the experience, he said he would never let himself get into such a state again and is grateful for what he went through.
