Robert Redford and Jane Fonda, Hollywood royalty who have starred as lovers in four films, reunited at the Venice Film Festival on Friday for a photocall promoting their latest film, Our Souls At Night. The event marked 38 years since their last on-screen appearance together.
Redford, 81, looked trim in an ivory t-shirt, navy jeans, a dove grey jacket, and black brogues, while Fonda, 79, dazzled in a sparkling ivory jumpsuit with metallic belt detail and silver stilettos. The pair, who share four Oscars between them, appeared close as they hugged and held hands for photographers.
The duo first appeared together in the 1960 film Tall Story, followed by The Chase (1966), Barefoot in the Park (1967), and The Electric Horseman (1979). Their new film, Our Souls At Night, tells the story of two widowers who fall in love after living next door to each other for years. It is set for release on September 29.
