Former X Factor star Ray Quinn has announced that his baby boy was "born sleeping". The 38-year-old shared an emotional message on social media with his wife Emily, revealing their son Rio Quinn was born sleeping on August 20.

In a post shared on Sunday evening (October 11), Ray, from Liverpool, posted a black and white photo of himself and Emily taken in hospital. The couple, who married in 2023, already share a daughter named Summer, born in 2022.
Ray wrote: "RIO QUINN. Our beautiful boy, born sleeping... 20th August 2026. No words will ever be enough, just a lot of indescribable feelings. Heaven gained the most beautiful little Angel and we were overjoyed when Rio was born and we found out we had a little boy!!"
Thanks to hospital staff
He added: "The last few weeks have been a lot but our saving grace has been each other. We just want to say a special thanks to Becky, Rebecca, Ali, Marie, Sarah and Lorraine @liverpoolwomens and to the HoneySuckle team you go above and beyond, and although it was the most heartbreaking week of our lives you created some of the most beautiful moments and we have such special memories with our boy to keep forever. Thank you!"
Ray continued: "When it's you that goes through such heartbreaking times like this, you soon find out just how much help and support there is out there. It's a whole lot more than you'd ever expect. And it's truly amazing!"

The comments on social media were filled with love and supportive messages. One follower named Jade said: "Oh my goodness. So sorry to read about your beautiful boy, sending love and strength to your family."
A second named Pauline said: "This is truly heartbreaking. I'm sorry to hear that your beautiful baby boy was born sleeping xx." Ray, who found fame on Brookside in the early 2000s, also starred on Dancing on Ice and Hollyoaks. He tied the knot with Emily in 2023 after they met in 2017. He was previously married to Emma Stephens and shares a son named Harry, born in 2012, with his ex-wife.
