Princess Andre has spoken for the first time about the emotional impact of her mother Katie Price being banned from appearing in her debut reality TV series, The Princess Diaries. The 18-year-old made the heartbreaking admission ahead of the second series of her show.
In a now-deleted Instagram clip, Princess is seen discussing the situation with her older brother Junior. She said: 'It just really upset me. When my series came out, because of the backlash from it about literally over our parents.' She added: 'Growing up with parents in the public eye, it is kind of annoying because when you achieve something for yourself, it gets taken over by the dramas between two sides of your family.'
Princess explained that the negative attention 'completely ruined the excitement' for her and left her feeling responsible. 'It kind of felt like it was all my fault, that all of this had kicked off and it kind of was, because it was from my show,' she said.
Junior responded by noting that their parents have separate fan bases that often clash. He said: 'The problem is mum's got her own fan base, which doesn't like dad and dad's got his own fan base which probably doesn't like mum.' He appealed for support for their own endeavours, adding: 'What I would just love is for people to actually support us doing our things.'
Last year, Katie Price used her podcast to rant about the ban, saying she was 'not allowed' and 'not welcome' on Princess's projects. She expressed hurt at being excluded from her daughter's career milestones, stating: 'I want to be there to support you like my family did. And I’m your mum and especially as you’re doing stuff that I did, I’m proud of you and want to be there.'
