Prince Harry suffered another personal blow on July 7 after a member of his family publicly criticized him on live television. Vogue Williams, the sister-in-law of Pippa Matthews, appeared on ITV's Loose Women to discuss Harry's ongoing accommodation dispute with Buckingham Palace, following his indecision about bringing his wife Meghan Markle and their children to the United Kingdom.
Vogue Williams Delivers Brutal Assessment
Vogue, who is married to Spencer Matthews—brother of Pippa, who is sister to Princess Catherine—did not hold back in her assessment. She fumed: "It seems whenever Harry is coming back into the country, there's this massive amount of drama." She noted that other Royal Family members manage to travel globally without similar fuss.
Williams further remarked: "[The Royals] probably don't really want to find the time to see him because they probably aren't close anymore." She added that she would "never ever come out and say something against my family, even if we were having problems at home. I wouldn't come out with a book and absolutely annihilate all of them."
Jeremy Vine Show Segment Sparks Controversy
The incident follows criticism of the Jeremy Vine Show, which faced backlash for a "disrespectful" segment about King Charles. A caller named Bill branded the monarch "pathetic" over the decision not to prepare a room for his son. Bill said: "He's pathetic. I mean, it's unbelievable that a son who's in line for the throne, who fought for 10 years in Afghanistan for this country, who loves this country… the only royal who fought in Afghanistan, the others with their chocolate medals on when they parade through the streets… it's pathetic!"
However, viewers pointed out that Prince Andrew served in the Falklands War, hitting back at the segment's claims.
