Prince George, second in line to the throne, was photographed at the Wimbledon men's singles final on Sunday in a pose that sparked jokes about a future career as a football manager. The 12-year-old royal stood with his hands on the counter, staring down at Centre Court in an authoritative stance, wearing a smart suit that included a pale blue shirt, striped tie, and dark jacket and trousers.
Viral Pose Returns to Wimbledon
The pictures were nearly identical to those taken a year ago at Wimbledon, which went viral as fans commented on his mature demeanor. Sharing the images side by side on social media, one fan joked: "If the king thing doesn't work out, he can always be a football manager." Another quipped: "CEO George."
Royal Family Attendance
Prince William, Princess Kate, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte arrived at around 3pm on Sunday to a standing ovation as they took their seats in the royal box. Prince Louis, 8, was absent. Royal expert Robert Jobson explained to Cosmopolitan UK: "Wimbledon is a grown up day out. The Royal Box is full of stars and a certain decorum is expected. Stillness. Silence between points. Hours of it. A five setter asks for patience most adults struggle to find."
Prince George sat between his father and sister during the match. Some royal fans expressed disappointment at Louis' absence, as he had made his Wimbledon debut at age 8.
