Andrey Santos to make debut
New signing Andrey Santos is expected to make his first appearance for United after joining from Chelsea earlier this week in a £50million transfer. Manager Michael Carrick, who has been confirmed as the permanent successor after an interim spell, confirmed Santos is in the travelling squad.
Santos is the only recent arrival in the squad, with Youri Tielemans resting after World Cup duty with Belgium and Karl Darlow recovering from a minor procedure. Most of United's World Cup participants, including Bruno Fernandes, Matheus Cunha, Senne Lammens, Amad Diallo, Diogo Dalot, Noussair Mazraoui, and Altay Bayindir, are yet to return. Squad news and absentees
Tyler Fletcher is back after not playing for Scotland in North America following a late call-up. Benjamin Sesko is recovering from injury, and Manuel Ugarte is sidelined for several months with knee ligament damage suffered with Uruguay requiring surgery.
The squad includes experienced players like Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw, who were omitted from England's World Cup squad by Thomas Tuchel, alongside youngsters such as Shea Lacey and Chido Obi.
