Television actor Pat Finn has died at the age of 60 after a battle with cancer. The comedian, best known for playing Bill Norwood on the ABC sitcom The Middle, passed away on Tuesday morning at his home in Los Angeles, surrounded by family.
Finn also appeared in popular shows such as Friends, where he played Dr. Roger, and Seinfeld, as Joe Mayo. He was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2022, went into remission, but the cancer later returned.
He is survived by his wife Donna and their three children, Cassidy, Caitlin, and Ryan. In a tribute on Instagram, his daughter Cassidy described him as a “role model” and “inspiration”, adding: “The least shocking thing was hearing the nurses say they have never seen so many people show up at a hospital for someone. That was my dad.”
Tributes have poured in from fans and colleagues. Comedian Jeff Dye wrote on X: “He was a friend. One of the best dudes I knew with a PERFECT sense of humor.” The Second City comedy club in Chicago remembered Finn as “as funny as he was kind”.
