In a candid new interview for British Vogue's April edition, global music sensation Olivia Rodrigo has offered a rare glimpse into her personal love life, which has frequently served as the creative fuel for her chart-topping hits. The 23-year-old singer-songwriter discussed her experiences with the exclusive celebrity dating platform Raya, reminisced about romantic moments at the famed Chiltern Firehouse, and remained enigmatic regarding her current relationship status with British actor Louis Partridge.
Relationship Status and Album Clues
Rumours circulated in December that Rodrigo and Partridge, 22, had ended their relationship after more than two years together. While the artist did not explicitly confirm or deny the split, she hinted that fans might find answers within the tracks of her highly anticipated third studio album, known among followers as OR3. "I lead a very private life, sort of… That makes me feel protected enough to be able to bare my soul in the songwriting," Rodrigo explained, emphasising her approach to transforming personal experiences into musical art.
London's Influence on New Music
The couple first captured public attention when spotted together in Partridge's hometown of London in October 2023. Rodrigo revealed that the city has profoundly influenced her upcoming album, stating, "I’ve found a lot of inspiration from being in London. I’ve spent so much time here over the course of making this album. It has a lot of songs that are London vibes, about experiences that I’ve had here." She expressed hope that the new record would "show a different side of me" and shared aspirations to spend more time in the British capital.
Dating App Disappointment and Romantic Hotspots
Following the monumental success of her debut album "Sour" in 2021, Rodrigo experimented with the elite dating service Raya before meeting Partridge. However, her foray into digital matchmaking was short-lived, lasting merely a month after an unsatisfactory date prompted her to delete her profile. "I was like, 'Wow, never again. It was just so bad'," she recounted. "I didn’t even see anyone cool! I thought I would see, like, ooh, some really hot actor guy. I don’t even know any of these people… It’s [always] some weird 'creative director'. Like, you just don’t have a job."
Elsewhere in the conversation, Rodrigo disclosed her favourite London venues, including The Fat Badger, and nostalgically recalled "some first kisses" at the iconic Chiltern Firehouse. The luxury hotel, which suffered a fire on February 14, 2025, caused by burning wood from a pizza oven, is currently closed for extensive repairs expected to span up to three years, though no injuries were reported.
Fashion and Photoshoot Highlights
Accompanying the interview is a striking photoshoot showcasing Rodrigo in high-fashion ensembles. She dazzled in a hand-embroidered Jacquard jacket paired with an embellished silk habotai bra and jeans from Alexander McQueen, highlighting her toned physique. Another captivating image featured the singer posing on a beach in a fringed Stella McCartney jacket, further illustrating her versatile style and artistic presence.
